Gregg Sloan is a user experience designer with over 8 years of work experience including task analysis, information architecture, interaction design, visual design and usability testing.
As the Manager of User Experience Design and Development for Lycos, Inc. in Mountain View, he was responsible for defining the user experience for some of the most popular services in the Lycos network. While at Lycos, he brought a user-based design approach that transformed the usability of all the products under his influence. As part of this process, he created the Mountain View User Research Lab and served as it's chief investigator until the end 2002. In 1999, Gregg was appointed to the Lycos Network Design Group, a select group of designers at Lycos who established the first user experience design guidelines for the Lycos network.
Prior to working at Lycos, Gregg worked as a interface designer for both WhoWhere, Inc. in Mountain View, CA, and Renderbox, Inc in Portland, OR where he worked on various online and desktop interactive products.
He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the Usability Professionals' Association (UPA).
He studied architecture and visual design at the University of Oregon and makes his home in Portland, OR, where he enjoys reading, sea kayaking, riding his Harley, a good game of darts and a round of golf.
